DETAILS

Every Cadillac reflects the best design, technology and performance of its time. So it's only fitting we follow suit with a coverage plan of the same caliber.

Covered for five years/100,000 miles

General Motors will warrant each 2009 model year passenger car, light duty truck or van's powertrain for 5 years, or 100,000 miles/160,000 km - whichever comes first - with no deductible. See your Cadillac dealer for terms and conditions. This warranty is for GM vehicles registered in the U.S.A. and is effective from the original in-service date of the vehicle for warrantable repairs that are required as a result of defects due to material and/or workmanship to the Powertrain components as listed below.


Engine

Cylinder head, block, timing gears, timing chain, timing cover, oil pump/oil pump housing, OHC carriers, valve covers, oil pan, seals, gaskets, turbocharger, supercharger and all internal lubricated parts as well as manifolds, flywheel, water pump, harmonic balancer and engine mount. Timing belts are covered until the first scheduled maintenance interval.


Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case

Case, all internal lubricated parts, torque converter, transfer case, transmission/transaxle mounts, seals, and gaskets.


Drive Systems

Final drive housing, all internal lubricated parts, axle shafts and bearings, constant velocity joints, axle housing, propeller shafts, universal joints, wheel bearings, locking hubs, front differential actuator, supports, front and rear hub bearings, seals and gaskets.


Courtesy Transportation Program

During the warranty coverage period, this Cadillac program provides alternate transportation and/or reimbursement of certain transportation expenses under the Courtesy Transportation Program if your vehicle requires warranty repairs. Several transportation options are available. Refer to your Owners Manual for details, including reservation of rights, or consult your dealer/retailer.¥


What Is Not Covered

All the above items are not covered for damage due to accident, misuse, alteration, insufficient or improper maintenance, contaminated or poor quality fuel. For complete details refer to your Warranty and Owner Assistance Information booklet.

This is a supplement to the express conditions and warranties described in the Warranty and Owner Assistance Information booklet. Other coverages are not extended or altered due to this supplement.

For 2009 model year passenger car, light duty truck and van owners requiring a more comprehensive coverage than what is provided with this warranty and the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, an authorized GM service contract (GM Protection Plan) is available through your dealer/retailer. These are the only plans recommended by General Motors. See your dealer/retailer for details.


Roadside Assistance Program

General Motors is proud to offer the response, security, and convenience of the 24-hour Roadside Assistance Program for a period of 5 years or 100,000 miles/160,000 km, whichever comes first. Refer to your Owner Manual for details, or consult your dealer/retailer. The Roadside Assistance contact information is listed in the Customer Assistance Offices section of the Warranty and Owner Assistance Information booklet.**


Bumper to Bumper Limited Warranty

This warranty is for GM vehicles registered in the U.S.A. See your Cadillac dealer for terms and conditions.


Covered for 4 years/50,000 miles, whichever comes first:

  • The complete vehicle
  • Tires (for manufacturer's defects only)
  • Towing to your nearest Cadillac dealership
  • Cosmetic corrosion resulting from defects
  • Repairs made to correct any vehicle defect
  • No charge and no deductible for covered warranty repairs

Rust-through corrosion


Corrosion Protection

Cadillac vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion. All body and sheet metal components are warranted against rust-through corrosion for six years. Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is not required under the corrosion coverage and none is recommended. See your Cadillac dealer for terms of this limited warranty.


An Important Note about Alterations and Warranties

Installations or alterations to the original equipment vehicle (or chassis) as distributed by General Motors are not covered by the General Motors New-Vehicle Limited Warranty. The special body company, assembler, equipment installer, or upfitter is solely responsible for warranties on the body or equipment and any alterations (or any effect of the alterations) to any of the parts, components, systems, or assemblies installed by GM. General Motors is not responsible for the safety or quality of design features, materials, or workmanship of any alterations by such suppliers.

What does the Cadillac 100,000-Mile Warranty include?

It includes a lot, beginning with: 5-year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty**. In addition to our standard bumper-to-bumper limited warranty, all 2009 GM passenger cars and light-duty trucks are covered by this exceptional powertrain warranty. There are no deductibles for repairs and the warranty is fully transferable at no charge. See the list of components above for further details.

Is my Roadside Assistance coverage extended also? What is the coverage?

5 years/100,000 miles of Roadside Assistance**. The Best Luxury Coverage in the Industry also provides you with the added assurance of 24/7 Roadside Assistance. This includes Fuel Delivery so you can reach the nearest service station, as well as Lock-Out, Flat Tire, Jump-Start and certain Emergency Towing services.1

GM Roadside Service can be reached 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This service is provided at no charge for any warranty-covered situation, and for a nominal charge if the GM vehicle is no longer under warranty. Roadside Service is available only in the United States and Canada.

Emergency Road Service is performed on-site for the following situations:

  • Towing Service
  • Battery Jump Starting
  • Lock Out Assistance
  • Fuel Delivery
  • Flat Tire Change (covers change only)

What about Courtesy Transportation?

Courtesy Transportation is also included for 5-years/100,000 miles on all 2009 passenger cars and light duty trucks. Whenever warranty repairs are required, several transportation options and/or reimbursement of certain transportation expenses are available for your convenience at participating dealers/retailers.2

What kind of deductible do I have to pay for all this protection?

There are no deductibles for covered repairs.

Is my vehicle covered from rust, too?

GM vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion. All body and sheet metal components are warranted against rust-through corrosion for 6 years/Unlimited 100,000 miles (whichever comes first). Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is not required under the corrosion coverage and none is recommended. See your GM dealer for terms of this limited warranty.

Do I have to take my vehicle to a GM dealer for maintenance to maintain my extended powertrain eligibility?

GM dealer/retailers have the specialized training and GM genuine parts and accessories to ensure your vehicle is repaired and maintained properly. Although you are not required to have your vehicle serviced at a GM dealer/retailership, we highly recommend that you do. In addition, we encourage you to keep detailed records and receipts of your maintenance history.

Does the required maintenance of my vehicle change as a result of this powertrain limited warranty?

As a vehicle owner, you are responsible for the performance of the scheduled maintenance listed in your Owners Manual. Your Owner's Manual provides a detailed maintenance schedule that you should follow for your specific vehicle and driving habits. In addition, we strongly encourage you to keep detailed records and receipts of your maintenance history.

Can I purchase this extra powertrain coverage for my 2006 (and prior) vehicle?

You may be eligible to choose from one of our GMPP offerings, which can be tailored to meet your needs - including extended powertrain coverage. Please contact your selling dealer/retailership for details on the various GM Protection Plan programs.
